TOWNHOUSE
RENOVATION AND ADDITION
Central Park West
Located adjacent to Central Park, this 7,000 square foot townhouse which had been converted to ten apartments was restored to its original use as single family home. The back facade of the house was extended on three levels and new full height windows were designed to maximize light. The living room opens onto a glass floored terrace which leads to a tree lined garden below. Careful planning of mechanical systems allowed for dramatically high ceilings throughout the house. Minimalist details and a limited palette highlight the monumental scale of the house and create a gallery-like setting for the owner’s documentary photography work as well as an extensive and noteworthy photography collection.
